The first meeting of the new Board of the Hellenic Medical Tourism Council ELITOUR was held in a very positive atmosphere with the participants expressing willingness to cooperate to achieve the national goal: The emergence of Greece as a top destination in the world map of medical tourism.
During the meeting the outgoing Board informed the Council about the important progress achieved in the previous period. The new BoD, under the chairmanship of Dr. George Patoulis, set the priorities of ELITOUR’s strategy for the coming months and proceeded with the creation of 13 Committees to undertake their implementation.
One of the key issues discussed was the coordination of the next actions for the organization of the IMTJ Medical Travel Summit 2018 World Medical Conference to be held in Athens from 21 to 24 May 2018.
The IMTJ Medical Travel Summit is a high-level event. Its objective is informing senior decision-makers active in the field of medical tourism and the attracrion of patients from other countries. The conference is organized by ELITOUR and the International Medical Travel Journal, in collaboration with Argo Travel.
Commenting on the issue,Dr. G. Patoulis, Chairman of ELITOUR, KEDE and EES, said:
“We are joining forces to establish Greece as a top destination of medical tourism, twelve months a year. Our country has strong competitive advantages and we believe that with a concerted effort and strategy, the goal is feasible and our efforts will soon bear fruit. We start with an international event, the IMTJ Medical Travel Summit 2018, which aims to bring together the best in the world of medical tourism to share their knowledge and experience that can ensure the long-term development of this industry ” .
